Daisy Dixon joined signatory firm PwC in 2021 on their Audit School Leaver Programme. Daisy’s offers her advice to anyone thinking about their future options or a career in accountancy:

“I joined PwC through the School Leaver Programme in Asset and Wealth Management Audit, having completed PwC’s New World New Skills work experience programme. I first heard about this opportunity when I attended a PwC Women in Business event in Birmingham. Wanting to learn more I approached my teachers and career advisors who were able to provide more information.

My advice to anyone considering a career in accounting would be to apply for work experience. Research a firm’s values and goals and make sure they align with your own – know what you want for yourself from an employer. I’d also recommend signing up to companies’ career social media accounts as this is where they share all their events and information about their roles.

My final piece of advice is to put yourself forward for every opportunity and get as much experience behind you as you can, and of course focus on exams and get that qualification!”
