Access Accountancy is an ambitious collaboration of employers and professional bodies, dedicated to improving access to the accountancy profession. By working together and committing to measurable outcomes we hope to deliver real change and welcome talented and ambitious young people to the profession from all backgrounds.
Alan Milburn, Chair of the Social Mobility and Child Poverty Commission has supported the initiative, saying:
“ It is welcome that the accountancy profession is taking action to improve social mobility. I hope these measures will lead to significant progress in widening access to the profession, and inspire thousands of young people who might have thought accountancy was out of their reach to investigate the opportunities available. These welcome steps need to be taken further and faster by the whole industry. ”
The accountancy profession is more representative, at all levels, of the socio-economic demographic of wider society.
Access Accountancy works towards everyone having an equal chance of accessing the accountancy profession based on merit not background.
